Pawney and Infergon — The Legend of the Russet Highlands in Two Shorts
Aniimo lore shorts · Why a timid Helmut became Pawney · The sad secret of the Infergon that Helmut defeatedHow did a timid Helmut become the legendary Pawney? And why did the Infergon that Pawney defeated roar in such pain? We turned the legend of the Russet Highlands hidden in the quests "Warrior" and "Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales" into two shorts.
- Part 1: A timid Helmut that only ever cried picks up a Rusty Iron Sword and becomes Pawney (quest "Warrior")
- Part 2: A Helmwhelp swallows the Flame Flower to save the red mountains and becomes the Infergon ("Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales")
- The two stories are connected: the dragon the warrior faces in Part 1 is the hero of Part 2
- Two YouTube shorts of about one minute each
1Part 1. Why a Timid Helmut Became a Legendary Warrior
- In the quest "Warrior", the painter Sorora looks at a faded painting and retraces lost memories. The Helmut Sorora remembers was a coward that only ever cried — whether Jawlings bullied it or other Helmuts were bullied.
- When the Helmut asks what a warrior is, Sorora answers: "a warrior is someone who raises a sword against a much more powerful enemy... the exact opposite of a Helmut."
- Even so, the Helmut says "Helmuts are born timid, so Helmwhelps shouldn’t pick on Helmuts... This one thinks... that’s not right!" and sets out to find a broken helmet and a Rusty Iron Sword.
- With that Rusty Iron Sword the Helmut defeats an Infergon and becomes the legendary Pawney. From then on, the Rusty Iron Sword is called the Sword of Bravery.
- Words Sorora remembers: "Anyone can become strong enough to slay a dragon... but a coward who still dares to raise their blade—that is a warrior."

2Part 2. The Sad Secret of the Infergon That Helmut Defeated
- In the journey "Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales", the Scar-faced Helgon tells Pawney an old story. Dragons and Helmuts once lived together on the red land, but a fight to survive turned them against each other.
- When the red mountains started to boil, everyone felt the danger, but no one could leave: "that place meant everything to us."
- While everyone stood helpless, a Helmwhelp climbed to the peak and swallowed the Flame Flower that bloomed in the boiling blaze. The mountains calmed, but the Helmwhelp turned red as blood and, after a long while, became the legendary Infergon.
- Because of the fire building up inside, the Infergon let out roars full of pain and rage more and more often. And even when defeated it never truly disappears — it returns again and again to face each new generation of Pawney.
- Words of the Scar-faced Helgon: "The Infergon... was a dragon who’d do anything to protect what mattered."

The Pain Behind This Dragon’s Roar
33. Where the Two Stories Meet
- The dragon the timid Helmut faced with a Rusty Iron Sword in Part 1 is the Infergon of Part 2.
- According to the Scar-faced Helgon, one day the fallen Pawney was never found, and only the sword it left behind remained — as the Infergon’s treasure. The Sword of Bravery you draw at the summit of the Russet Highlands, twined with a Helmut, is the sword left by the previous Pawney.
- The Infergon returns even after it is defeated, and Rookey says "As long as the Helmuts stand, the Pawney lives on." The battle between warrior and dragon goes on to this day.
- After hearing the story, the player can answer "Sounds like the Infergon was a warrior too." The warrior who protected the Helmuts and the dragon who protected the red land both fought to protect what mattered to them.
