CHAPTER 01
A Helmut Friend for His Son
MOANIIMO noteIn the journey “Helmut’s Island Adventure,” the scar-faced Helgon captures a Helmut and takes it to his island.
Game text
The scar-faced Helgon wants you to pretend to be a Helmut friend and help its child, Jawling, find the treasure it prepared. Twine with Helmut and go see Jawling.
A scar-faced Helgon captures you and takes you to an island. It puts on a fierce act and threatens you, but what it really wants is for you to play the part of a Helmut friend and accompany its child, a Jawling, on a treasure hunt.
Hmph, relax. You Helmuts ain’t bad for a bite, but I ain’t that bored to fly all this way just to nab ya.
I need ya to... pretend to be someone’s friend.
Ahem, me little’un wants a Helmut friend to go treasure ’unting with, see?
Defy me and I’ll chuck ya into the sea, wait till yer good an’ dizzy, then fish ya back out. If ya still don’t agree, I’ll trap you on this island forever and you’ll never be able to go ’ome.
What? N-No way! I can’t let me kiddo down!
Me kid’s by the cave round the back. Head up from ’ere. Keep goin’. Don’t stop. That proper cute dragon you spot? That’s mine.
(In Helmspeak) Helmuts are the best toys ever!
(In Helmspeak) Did I say that wrong? I just learned that!
At the entrance, you find an overjoyed Jawling showing off some Helmspeak he just picked up: "Helmets are the best toys in the world!" He excitedly invites you to go treasure hunting with him.
Yeah! Ever since I was really, really little, I’ve dreamed of this mural!
There was a bonfire, my dad, a Rookey, and the great Infergon! But... for some reason, the Infergon stopped showing up later...
Dad says every Jawling finds a lot of treasures in life, but only stays with the most, most precious one and protects it.
Today, I found mine! I’m super happy!
"Friend"? What’s that?
But that’s fine! Friend... Friend... Then you’re my Helmut friend, right? Right?
Wowee! I-I-I’m a Jawling with a Helmut friend!
The Jawling says it has dreamed of the scene in the mural since it was little—Helmuts and Helgons living side by side. In the dream, there was once an Infergon, but it later disappeared. When you explain what "friend" means, it happily declares that you are its first Helmut friend and says this is the most precious treasure it has found.

Game text
Dad... this chest smells just like you.
Thank you, Dad, for giving me a Helmut friend!
You always say we gotta protect what matters most. So I’ve decided! I’m going on adventures with my Helmut friend—and I’ll protect them, my most precious treasure!
U-Uhhh... sigh, I know all Jawlings eventually fly off someday... just didn’t think it’d be this soon.
...Sigh. Go on, then. I’ll stay ’ere... and guard what matters most to us.
I waited so long to finally get a Helmut friend.
Sigh... Go on. Jawlings all leave the nest, sooner or later.
I’ll stay ’ere, watchin’ over our ’ome... waitin’ for you to come back.
Dad... when I grow into a mighty Helgon, and my Helmut friend becomes a brave Pawney, we’ll come back!
Y-You really think your old man’s a mighty Helgon?
Of course! You’re the most, most, most powerful dad ever!
The scar-faced Helgon had planned a gift for his Jawling son, but the Jawling tells him that his Helmut friend is the most precious treasure of all and that he wants to go adventuring with him. Though reluctant to let his son go, the scar-faced Helgon agrees, promising to stay behind and watch over their home until his son returns.
My kid’s been led off by a Helmut... though truth be told, I’m not even sure it’s a real one.
...Do I look like the big boss Infergon right now?
Feel like I’m about to start breathin’ fire.
CHAPTER 02
The Treasure Called the Red Land
MOANIIMO noteIn the journey “Island Adventure: Nightfall Tales,” the scar-faced Helgon tells Pawney an old story.
Game text
A Helgon, a Rookey, and an Infergon are chatting in a circle, while Helmuts and Jawlings are sleeping on the ground. One of the Jawlings even has its teeth on a Helmut’s helmet... Someone recorded all this in an ancient language. Maybe a long time ago, Helmuts and Jawlings were friends.
Jawlings and Helmuts once lived together on the red land. If not for what came after... things wouldn’t’ve turned out like this.
To survive, Jawlings and Helmuts went to war. Old mates turned into enemies, just like that.
We dragons swallowed fire to guard our treasures, same way you lot had to fight for your own.
The red mountains started boilin’ over. We all felt it—danger, plain as day. But we wouldn’t leave... that place meant everything to us.
When no one knew what to do... a Helmwhelp climbed to the peak... and swallowed the flame flower growin’ in that blaze.
The mountains calmed. The danger faded... but that Helmwhelp turned red as blood and grew dangerous... and after a long while... it became the Infergon.
The Infergon... was a dragon who’d do anything to protect what mattered.
But the fire kept buildin’ inside the Infergon... made it roar louder and louder—pain, rage... the whole lot.
The Infergon ain’t ever truly gone. It is the fire.
CHAPTER 03
The Legend the Helmwhelps Admire
MOANIIMO noteOn a mountain path in Russet Highlands, you overhear the patrolling Helmwhelps.
Game text
The Helmwhelps on the mountain trail are already planning to catch a few Helmuts for fun once their patrol ends, clearly envious of the Helmuts’ gleaming helmets.
How come those wimps get those shiny helmets, huh? Makes me so jeeealous!
Shiny... Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk... So shiny...
I heard big boss Infergon’s got a whole collection of ware tweasures—all of ’em shiny!
There’s just one stwange piece that stands out though. A Rusty Sword that doesn’t match all those shinies at all.
But the big boss is super careful about it—guards it weal close, won’t let anyone else touch it.
They say there once was a wed flame burning atop a mountain, its heat covering the whole thing from the peak down.
Then the flame disappeared, and not long after, big boss Infergon showed up!
My gwandma told me big boss Infergon used to be just a wegular Helmwhelp like us—until it swallowed that flame. I don’t weally buy it... but boy do I wish it was twue!
While chatting, a group of Helmwhelps bring up the legend of the Infergon: a ball of red flame once burned atop the mountain, and the Infergon appeared after it vanished. The story goes that an ordinary Helmwhelp swallowed the flame and evolved into an Infergon. They do not fully believe the tale, but they still find it thrilling.
Long ago, the mountains of the Russet Highlands surged and boiled, and the earth trembled violently. The Aniimo clans that lived here faced catastrophe. Then a Helmwhelp rushed to the summit and, enduring the searing agony that engulfed its body, swallowed a Flame Flower that bloomed brightly amid the raging inferno. The mountains returned to peace, but the Helmwhelp’s body was scorched blood-red. From then on, it could breathe roaring flames, transforming into the legendary Infergon.
CHAPTER 04
Honey Cakes and the Flame Flower
MOANIIMO notePerfumer Grace tells a story about an Infergon that was handed down from her ancestor.
Game text
Long, long ago, the Infergon used to appear near Bloomville at night, nearly scaring the night watcher to death.
But the Infergon never harmed anyone. Instead, it waddled up to a stove and just stared at it, drooling all over the floor.
The family carefully lifted the lid and handed over the honey cakes they’d forgotten inside... The Infergon gulped them down in one bite... then simply kept staring, expectant.
Haha, that family’s honey cakes were legendary. They brought an ancient recipe back to life! Sometimes I wonder if the Idyllians and Infergon lived side by side a long, long time ago.
The Infergon didn’t just like honey cakes—it remembered them. There was something distant... and familiar about them.
In any case, they fed it well, and then the Infergon scratched its head, conjuring a flame flower as a gift in return.
From then on, the Infergon came every night, ate a whole pot of honey cakes, and left behind a flame flower. A most elegant exchange of treasures.
Truth be told, I’ve never seen the Infergon myself... so I just imagine it whenever I blend.
You give the flame flower root to Grace, and she tells you the legend of her ancestor and the Infergon. The Infergon loved honey cakes and would trade flame flowers for them, and her ancestor used those flowers to create Eternal Red. After hearing about what you saw in Russet Highlands, Grace successfully blends "Burst of Red" and tells you that completing Eternal Red will require Cress’s help.
The Infergon has been defeated by a warrior. A flame-like flower somehow bloomed at the exact spot where it was slain. Did the Infergon once swallow the precious flame flower of the Russet Highlands? Or did the flame flower simply bloom for the Infergon? The legend of the Jawling family might hold the answer. —The Infergon lives eternally on the Russet Highlands, as long as the flame still burns.
CHAPTER 05
Dragons Who Guard the Treasure Chests
Game text
The Jawling Family is known as the “Hoarding Dragon,” fond of securing and guarding treasures. As for Infergon, the Omega of the Jawling Family, what kind of treasure does it cherish?
That chest belongs to all the Whelpies! Don’t open it!
Little Whelpies go to sleep at night, so I’m the only one left guarding the chest from other dragons.
That’s what an older Whelpy should do. But it would be nice if another Whelpy could help me at night.
Oh, you’re the Whelpy from the daytime. Whelpy’s guarding the chest, but Whelpy’s so sleepy.
Lots of Whelpy’s chests have gone missing lately. There must be a chest thief around.
Hahaha, the chests are all still here!
Alright, alright! Whelpy loses. You can take the chest.
Amazing! Whelpy must learn from you and become stronger!
CHAPTER 06
The Horned Helmut Friend
Game text
Whelpy used to have a Helmut friend...
Don’t say things like that. Not every Whelpy is mean. Whelpy met it when white fluffballs were falling from the sky.
It was different from other Helmuts. It had two adorable horns on its helmet, just like Whelpy.
It wasn’t scared of me at all, and we both liked shinies, so we became friends. But it left, and I never saw it again.
If Whelpy could see what it looks like again and talk to it, then Whelpy will give you the chest.
Waaah... it’s it. That’s exactly what it looked like.
Whelpy’s so happy. Whelpy can’t stay here forever. Whelpy has to go find it.
CHAPTER 07
The Best Friends of Astra
Game text
Helmuts need their helmets to protect their soft bodies, while Jawlings have a powerful bite and chew on anything they see—especially tough metal objects.
That’s why Jawlings keep robbing Helmuts of their helmets, causing them to get injured. However, in Astra, they ended up best friends.
According to ancient literature, Helmuts and Jawlings aren’t supposed to get along with each other. But look at the two subjects in front of us—they’ve been sleeping next to each other for seven days!
Yesterday, the Jawling made a gentle "biting-the-helmet" gesture on the Helmut. The Helmut was supposed to immediately turn away and try to escape, but it didn’t! Instead, it jittered a bit, as if saying, "I’m so excited!"
