Aniilog Guide – How to Raise Research Points Fast, Skip the 1,000 Catches with a Sparkling Cube, and 48 Habit Snap Missions

Where to get Research Points · Points needed per level · Level rewards (Accessory Slots) · 15 Topic types · Habit Snap mission conditions · Regional research level rewards · Research Report
The Aniilog — the crown at the top right of each card is the research stage, and the row below is the regional Family Collection reward
A breakdown of where the Research Points that raise each Aniimo's Research Level in the Aniilog come from, and how many you get. First catch 100, another form 50, Sparkling form 50, one Habit 50, Topic step 10–20. For most Aniimo, catching a Sparkling once gets you to max level without the 1,000-catch Topic. The table also lists what to photograph and the conditions for all 48 Habit Snap missions.
  • Research Points: first catch 100 · first catch of another form 50 · first catch of a Sparkling form 50 · 1 Habit 50 · Topic step 10–20
  • Each level up gives that Aniimo +1 Accessory Slot (up to 4 times, 1 slot → 5 slots)
  • For 84 of 86 species, Topics + Habits + forms add up to exactly the max level — the 1,000 catches (10 points) is part of that
  • A Sparkling Cube always catches a Sparkling, so the 50 Sparkling points let you skip the 1,000 catches
  • Collected points only count after you submit a Research Report at the Research Console in an Outpost

Where Research Points come from

Reference
• First catch (basic form): 100 points • First catch of another form: 50 points per form • First catch of a Sparkling form: 50 points per form — guaranteed with a Sparkling Cube • Habit (feature) unlock: 50 points each — Snap missions, etc. • Topic step: 10 or 20 points

The in-game help says “very large for new Aniimo, large for survey items and forms, small for Topics.” The numbers above are the actual values.

1Research Level and Rewards

  • Each Aniimo has its own Research Level, and every level needs a different number of Research Points. The first level is always 110 points; after that it differs per Aniimo. For example, Flutternym needs 110 → 90 → 160 → 220 points (580 total).
  • Each level up adds 1 Accessory Slot to that Aniimo. The in-game guide says slots become 2, 3, 4 and 5 as the research stage rises to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Prismana. You must claim the reward yourself in the Aniilog.
  • The only level reward is Accessory Slots. The Skill, Trait and Evolution Research tabs unlock just by obtaining the Aniimo and have nothing to do with points.
  • Points do not apply right away. They pile up until you submit a Research Report at the Research Console in an Outpost, and only then count toward the level. You cannot report without an active Outpost.

2Skip the 1,000 Catches with a Sparkling Cube

  • Add up the Topic + Habit + first-catch-of-each-form points for one species, and for 84 of 86 species the total is exactly the points needed for max level. So normally you have to finish even the last Topic, like “1,000 catches,” to reach max level.
  • But the first catch of a Sparkling form gives 50 points per form on top of that. Those 50 points are extra, outside the total above, so with one Sparkling you can skip a few Topics, like the 1,000 catches (10 points), and still reach max level.
  • An Aniimo caught with a Sparkling Cube is always Sparkling. If you want to raise an Aniimo's Research Level, using a Sparkling Cube on it guarantees the 50 points.
  • Many Gamma Stage and Nova Stage Aniimo (46 species) also have an “Obtain a Sparkling Aniimo” Topic (20 points), so one Sparkling gives 70 points. Lumin Stage Aniimo do not have this Topic.
  • Exceptions: Panpanta and Glynsera are 20 points short even after finishing every Topic, so they need at least 1 Sparkling form to reach max level. Glacy, Grizbo and Irisalis, on the other hand, end up with points to spare.

3Topic Types and Points

  • Each Aniimo has 4 to 6 Topics. Most have 4 steps worth 10 points each.
  • Besides points, some Topic step rewards include items such as Sparkling Crystals, Safaris and Starcryst Essence, and the “1,000 catches” step also gives a Sparkling Sigil. You must claim Topic rewards yourself too.

448 Habit Snap Missions

  • Each time you unlock a Habit in the Aniilog's Feature Research, you get 50 points. 48 of them are Snap missions, where you take a photo to unlock it.
  • A mission only turns on after you have caught that Aniimo at least once. If you never have, it does not show up at all.
  • When the condition is met, a photo marker appears over the target's head. Then take the photo from within 0–25 m, with the target fully in frame and not blocked. Both Quick Snap and Camera Mode work.
  • Your own summoned Aniimo counts too. For missions that only check a motion, like “when sleeping” or “an occasional idle move,” summon your Aniimo, open the Camera (F7) → “Aniimo Emotes,” make it do a Sleep, Rest or Cute pose, and take the photo to clear it (last column of the table). No need to hunt for wild Aniimo.
  • Behavior, route and special-state missions must be photographed while a wild Aniimo does that thing. Using Freeze Time in photo mode to stop the motion midway and frame your shot keeps you from missing it.
  • The 2 “scene” missions (Skippy Water Slide, Susuta Natural Trampoline) only work when the scene starts at the set spot, and only for wild Aniimo.

5Regional Research Level (Breezy Plains)

  • Adding up the Research Points of all 82 Breezy Plains Aniimo raises the Regional Research Level. Each level gives 100 Glimmer, a Report Card, 10 Growth Flowers (Growth Fruit from level 6) and a cosmetic package.
  • Maxing all 82 gives 37,130 points, and with every Sparkling form caught too, 47,130. So level 12 (48,000 points) is out of reach for now.
  • Form Collection (up to 195) and Family Collection (up to 82 species) have their own step rewards too, such as Aniipod Ultra, Tumbler, Starcryst Essence, Capafruit and Vein Essence.

FAQ

Q. Do I have to catch 1,000 to max out the Research Level?
No. The 1,000 catches is just one 10-point step. The first catch of a Sparkling form gives 50 points separately, so catching one with a Sparkling Cube gets most Aniimo to max level without the 1,000. Only Panpanta and Glynsera truly need a Sparkling.
Q. What do I get for raising the Research Level?
Each level adds 1 Accessory Slot to that Aniimo, up to 5. You must claim the reward yourself in the Aniilog.
Q. I collected points but my level did not go up.
Submit a Research Report at the Research Console in an Outpost for the points to count. You need an active Outpost.
Q. The Habit Snap mission does not show up.
You must have caught that Aniimo at least once for the mission to turn on. A photo marker appears over its head when the condition is met, so take the photo from within 25 m while it shows.

Pro tips

  • •Use a Sparkling Cube on Gamma Stage or Nova Stage Aniimo whose Research Level is still low and that have the Sparkling Topic (20 points): you get 70 points at once.
  • •A Habit is worth 50 points, the same as 5 Topic steps (10 each). Pose-based missions can be done right away with your own Aniimo, so grab those first.
  • •After collecting points, don't forget to submit a Research Report at the Outpost.
