Aniimo Gachapus Playbook – [Jackpot] +80%, Rigged Draw and Fission Needles

Bubble Gachapon trait · 5 bubble slots · the same color never comes twice in a row · [Jackpot] 10s · Rigged Draw hits 2.25x (104 → 234) · skill number table · Fission Needles · Held Item Contract · switching out removes [Jackpot]
Gachapus during [Jackpot] — the slots turn into a yellow gauge

Gachapus is a DPS that fights with Basic Attack Damage. The damage of its core skill, Bubble Barrage, counts as Basic Attack Damage, so [Jackpot] (Basic Attack Damage +80%), Super Jackpot (+30%) and Fission Needles all apply to that skill.

This post lays out how Gachapus, the Water DPS of the Whisperwake Isles, fights: the bubble slots and [Jackpot] of the Bubble Gachapon trait, how to line up colors with Rigged Draw and the damage it really deals, the skill numbers, the Held Item Fission Needles that boosts Basic Attack Damage together with the Held Item Contract, and what happens to the slots and [Jackpot] when you switch out.
  • Bubble Barrage: its damage counts as Basic Attack Damage. [Jackpot], Super Jackpot and Fission Needles all apply.
  • [Jackpot]: when all 5 slots hold the same color, or a gold bubble appears, you get Basic Attack Damage +80% for 10s.
  • The same color never comes twice in a row. You make 5 of a kind with Rigged Draw, and the only [Jackpot] that triggers on its own is the gold bubble (1% in the in-game description).
  • Rigged Draw: removes 1 bubble of the least common color and sets the next bubble to the most common color. The next Basic Attack on the same target went 104 → 234 (2.25x).
  • Switching: if you switch to another Aniimo during [Jackpot], [Jackpot] disappears.

1At a glance: a DPS that fights with Basic Attack Damage

  • Gachapus is a Water DPS. Its Prismana Form is Water · Dark, and both forms share the same trait.
  • The in-game description of the core skill Bubble Barrage says "Damage dealt counts as Basic Attack Damage." Every single bubble is calculated as a Basic Attack.
  • That means every effect that raises "Basic Attack Damage" also applies to Bubble Barrage.

2The Bubble Gachapon trait and the bubble slots

  • Every time you use a Basic Attack, 1 bubble comes out at random and goes into the gacha slots. The colors are orange · purple · blue and gold. The in-game description gives gold 1% and each of the other colors 33%.
  • The 5 vertical slots on the left of the screen are the gacha slots. A new bubble enters at the top, and if all 5 slots are full, the bottom one (the oldest bubble) drops out. The slots always hold the 5 most recent bubbles.
  • When bubbles come out: 1 per Basic Attack hit (all 4 hits) · 1 per Enhanced Bubble · Bubble Barrage gives 1 every 0.15s while you use it (about 30 over 5 seconds, about 23 over 4 seconds for the contract-enhanced version)
  • Bubble color does not change the damage of Basic Attacks or Bubble Barrage. The only skill whose effect changes with color is Enhanced Bubble (table below).
  • The same color never comes twice in a row. In about 45 Gachas with Basic Attacks, the same color as the one right before it never showed up even once.
  • So 5 of a kind never forms on its own. You make 5 of a kind with Rigged Draw, and the only [Jackpot] that triggers on its own is the gold bubble.
  • If you take gold as 1%, as the in-game description says, the chance of seeing gold at least once during one Bubble Barrage (about 30 Gachas) is about 26%, and about 21% for the contract-enhanced version (about 23).

3[Jackpot]: Basic Attack Damage +80% for 10s

  • [Jackpot] triggers when all 5 slots become the same color or a gold bubble comes out.
  • It gives Basic Attack Damage +80% for 10s. It also applies to Bubble Barrage damage.
  • The moment [Jackpot] triggers, the slots are cleared. On screen the slots turn into a yellow gauge that shrinks over 10 seconds, and when it ends, the slots start filling again from empty.
  • No Gacha runs during [Jackpot]. That is why [Jackpot] never stacks or gets longer.
  • During [Jackpot], the bubbles of Basic Attacks and Bubble Barrage become rainbow bubbles, and an attack that used to hit only one target turns into an AoE attack that hits several targets around it.
  • During [Jackpot], Enhanced Bubble is always a rainbow bubble (it has the orange, blue and purple effects all at once).
  • If [Jackpot] triggers while you are using Bubble Barrage, the remaining bubbles immediately become rainbow · AoE · +80%.
A gold bubble enters at the top → the slots are cleared → yellow gauge (about 10s)

4When you switch out or switch parties

  • If you switch to another Aniimo during [Jackpot] and come back, [Jackpot] is gone. The same goes for switching within the same party.
  • In normal times, the slots stay as they are even if you switch out and come back within the same party.
  • If you switch to another party with Switch Party (H) and come back, the slots are cleared and [Jackpot] is gone too.

5Rigged Draw: making 5 of a kind

  • In-game description: "Consumes the bubbles of the least common color. The next basic attack is guaranteed to fire a bubble of the most common color, with 1.5x the damage area, and deals 200% additional damage."
  • Rigged Draw does two things.
  • ① Sets the next bubble color: it removes just 1 bubble of the least common color from the slots and sets the next bubble that comes out to the most common color. This bubble is used first not only by Basic Attacks but also by the Gachas of Enhanced Bubble and Bubble Barrage.
  • When the least or most common colors are tied, the color that entered the slots first was picked (all 3 times I tried).
  • A bubble set by Rigged Draw is not subject to "the same color never comes twice in a row". That is why using Rigged Draw over and over can make 5 of a kind.
  • Example (top to bottom): Blue · Purple · Blue · Orange · Blue → Rigged Draw → orange is removed and the next bubble is blue → attack: Blue · Blue · Purple · Blue · Blue → Rigged Draw once more → purple is removed and blue enters, giving 5 Blue → [Jackpot]
  • ② Boosts the next Basic Attack: the area of the next 1 hit of a Basic Attack becomes 1.5x and the damage goes up. It applies only to Basic Attacks, not to Bubble Barrage.
  • Damage: the description says "200% additional damage", but on the same target (Celestis Lv.49) a Basic Attack did 104 → after Rigged Draw, a Basic Attack did 234. That is 2.25x (125% additional). It was 234 all 4 times, with no Crit shown.
  • Energy Cost 5, Cooldown 1s.

7Held Item: Fission Needles and the Held Item Contract

  • Fission Needles (Legendary) core effect: "Each basic attack has a 50% chance to deal double damage."
  • +10: restores 1 Energy when it triggers · +15: when Energy is full, Basic Attack Damage Amp +30% for 10s
  • Bubble Barrage bubbles also count as Basic Attacks, so Fission Needles triggers with a 50% chance on every single bubble. One Bubble Barrage fires about 21 bubbles.
  • Fission Needles is not an item only for Gachapus. Every Legendary Held Item can get a contract once it is enhanced to +15.
  • Held Item Contract: if you sign a +15 Legendary Held Item with Gachapus, the Bubble Barrage of every Gachapus holding that item becomes the enhanced version. The cost is 10 Marks of the Strong.
  • The enhanced version fires bubbles "at a faster speed" and lasts 4s (5s originally). The number of bubbles stays at about 21 and it ends 1 second sooner. The number of Gachas drops from about 30 to about 23.
  • "Adjust Contract", which moves a Held Item signed with another Aniimo over to Gachapus, also costs 10 Marks of the Strong.

8Flow of play

  • Chained in order, the actions above look like this.
  1. 1

    Collect bubbles

    • Using Basic Attacks, Enhanced Bubble and Bubble Barrage fills the slots with bubbles.
    • The same color never comes twice in a row, so the slots end up with a mix of colors. If gold comes out, it is [Jackpot] right away.
  2. 2

Line up colors with Rigged Draw

    • Each time you use Rigged Draw (Energy 5, Cooldown 1s), 1 bubble of the least common color is removed and the next bubble becomes the most common color.
    • When 5 slots share one color, [Jackpot] triggers.
  3. 3

Stack damage in the 10s of [Jackpot]

    • For the 10s of [Jackpot], Basic Attack and Bubble Barrage damage is +80% and becomes AoE.
    • Using Super Jackpot also adds Basic Attack Damage +30% (15s).
  4. 4

Do not switch out during [Jackpot]

    • If you switch to another Aniimo during [Jackpot], [Jackpot] disappears.
    • In normal times, the slots stay even if you switch out.

9Where to find Gachapus

  • Gachapus appears at 2 fixed spots in Crescent Bay in the Whisperwake Isles. When Popapus evolves, it becomes Gachapus.

FAQ

Q. Does Fission Needles also apply to Bubble Barrage?
Yes. Bubble Barrage damage counts as Basic Attack Damage, so the Fission Needles effect "Each basic attack has a 50% chance to deal double damage" triggers on every single bubble.
Q. Why don't 5 bubbles of the same color ever gather?
Because the same color never comes twice in a row. 5 of a kind never forms on its own, and the only [Jackpot] that triggers on its own is the gold bubble. You make 5 of a kind by using Rigged Draw over and over.
Q. Is the additional damage of Rigged Draw really 200%?
The description says 200%, but on the same target a Basic Attack of 104 → a Basic Attack of 234 after Rigged Draw was 2.25x (125% additional).
Q. What happens if I switch out during [Jackpot]?
[Jackpot] disappears. The same goes for switching within the same party, and for Switch Party (H). When [Jackpot] is not active, the slots stay if you switch out, and are cleared if you use Switch Party (H).
It has not been confirmed what the real bubble rates are, or whether [Jackpot] +80%, Super Jackpot +30% and Fission Needles +30% are added together or multiplied.
